Satellite TV Channels Frequencies?

Filed under: satellite tv channel — admin @ 4:09 am

I have a satellite Dish with 2 LNB's which is recieving Hotbird & Arabsat. I want to know how many more satellite tv channels can i recieve from the same dish.

Also how can i know the position of my Dish ? so that even if i get a list of the channels how can i figure out the direction my dish is facing.

I'm guessing that someone else installed the dish for you , and that is why you're not familiar with where you are pointed.

Arabsat 2B is located at 30.5 east .

Are you sure you get Hotbird ?

Maybe Eurobird , but there are several different satellites with this name.

If you decide to add another LNB , yes you can get another satellite as long as it is pretty close , and the type of dish you have also makes a difference , for instance a Torroidal dish will allow many LNB and the ability to get many more satellites.

If you motorize your dish wou will get even more channels.

When asking a question about FTA Satellite please be more specific about where you live and the equipment you have.

help with dvi to hdmi cable on pc to tv?

Filed under: cable tv on pc — admin @ 4:09 am

i have a dvi to hdmi cable and im trying to use my lcd tv on my pc but my lcd won't pick up the computer so when i press hdmi on the lcd it says no device connected. if i plug in a ps3 in the hdmi plug on the lcd it works and if i unplug it and plug the computer in fast it works but then the words check signal cable overlay the picture of the computer desktop. the lcd is hd.
the tv is a samsung 22inch series 4, and my graphics card is a ati radeon x800

What make/model HDTV? What graphics card or built-in graphics do you have on your PC and what video modes does it support (does it support HDTV modes)? Many LCD's also support PC video modes, but some do not.

It might help to try booting the PC with the LCD already connected and on.

Note that sound would either come out of whatever speakers you have on your PC unless you run proper sound cable(s) to your TV. HDMI normally includes sound, but DVI does not.

Cable or adapter for an analog video camera to plug into the computer?

Filed under: cable on computer — admin @ 4:09 am

I have an analog video camera, and want to be able to plug it into my computer, what cable or adapter would I need to do this??

Providing the camera model number will be very helpful on a question like this.

Depending on the age of the camera you should have a output jack, RCA and/or S-video connections. Your computer on the other hand will not have these connections unless you have a media computer or a video capture card. If you do not have a capture card or a video input card you can buy one and install that. There are also some external capture/conversion boxes that will accept the output of your camera and allow you to use USB or Firewire into the computer. I do not vouch for the product below but it is an example of something that might work for you.

what causes the flicker on a computer or tv screen when viewed through a camcorder or a video recording device

Filed under: tv on my computer — admin @ 4:09 am

I've noticed that whenever they show a Tv screen or a computer screen(especially) on TV there always seem to be lines going across the screen from top to bottom (except in the highest quality video). Have you noticed that? What causes it?

The TV image refreshes itself top-to-bottom so-many-times per second. The camcorder acquires images at a slightly different number of times per second. The two are out of phase, so the TV image appears to "move."

Can a computer be hooked up thru a satellite system? High speed?

Filed under: satellite tv systems — admin @ 4:09 am

We're moving to an area that only offers satellite TV - no cable. AND, we're not getting a telephone land line. Can our computers be hooked up thru the satellite system? Can we get high speed internet?

Yes, provided that the satellite company provides Internet access. It costs more than regular land line Internet. there is one catch to it though - it needs a land line. the reason for this is so that it can send a signal out from your computer.

satellite co. -> modem hardware ($$$) -> your computer -> phone line -> satellite co. {think of this in a circular setup with satellite co. as the first step.}

there is one out there though that we are getting tomorrow that actually sends the signal back to the satellite, but you don't get TV with it, it is strictly Internet only.

if you are looking for multi-lingual tv, online tv social community, social tv network, internet tv stations, tv channels, free global internet tv, broadband channels, live webcast, customized tv programmes, After testing various TV software and visiting loads of sites. most of them offer a free trial or preview and then they make you pay to sign up, or are cluttered with ads. I think that is ridiculous… so ive done my research and have found a couple of really decent sites. The first one Id like to draw your attention to is (www.viewmy.tv) This site has almost 1300 channels from around the globe and counting. it is free to register and they dont ask for stupid details, just your username and email address. It actually streams live channels so you dont have to download any and they have a pretty easy way of finding the channel you want. You can search through genre, country, region or name of the channel. oh and there are no ads either. Check this one out. With over 1300 channels from hundreds of countries, loads of features like channel rating, user recommendations, live chat, profile pages and much much more.

Can you hook up PC Laptop to TV to watch movies?

Filed under: tv on laptop — admin @ 4:09 am

Can you hook up a laptop computer to the TV to watch movies? Is there some type of cable that I can hook up from the laptop to the TV so that I can see the computer screen on the TV and watch movies, etc on the TV from the computer? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

It depends on the ports you have on your computer and on your TV. Check what kinds you have on your laptop.

The four main types are (in increasing quality):
1. S-Video [2 types: 4Pin as in picture|7Pin]
Port: http://www.coloredhome.com/video/s-video_PC.JPG
Cord: http://akamaipix.crutchfield.com/graphics/infolib/homelib/hSVideoConnector.jpg
2. VGA
Port: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/c/cc/VGA_port.jpg
Cord: http://www.thisishowyoudoit.com/blogimages/VGA-port-male.jpg
3. DVI
Port: http://vocaro.com/trevor/blog/wp-content/uploads/2006/10/_support_mac101_connect_images_connect01-6.jpg
Cord: http://www.tech-faq.com/dvi-hdtv-connector.jpg
4. HDMI - also transfer sound signal
Port: http://media.bestofmicro.com/,2-3-49323-3.jpg
Cord: http://www.k1cable.com/images/hdmi_000.jpg

All of these do the same thing: The laptop sends the video information through the Port and the Cord. Your TV Recieves that information in its port. Numbers 1 to 3 do not transfer sound, so you will need a separate adapter for your headphone to TV Audio. #4 HDMI transfers both sound and audio data, so you won't need a separate cable for sound.

Check if your TV has corresponding ports. If not, you can buy adapters. This is an example of a VGA to RCA(Red/White/Yellow analog cables) and S-Video

http://img.alibaba.com/photo/52306528/VGA_to_TV_Converter_S_Video_Cable_RCA_OUT_Cable_Adapter.jpg

Try to stay away from S-video. The quality is really bad.
