The only real con against satellite is ping times, this doesn't mean anything to you UNLESS you do a lot of online gaming.
Well satellite could be more expensive.
The tv only has a cable jack. So i want to know if i can connect the computer thru the directv satellite receiver s-video, then to the TV using cable.
Is the s-video connector on the satellite receiver an input or an output? If it's an output jack, then no, because you have no way of getting the s-video signal into the receiver. If it is an input (and I can't imagine why there would be an s-video input on a satellite receiver), you can try it.
I have installed this software, which needs an internet connection to view it. The man promised 430 channels but I have only been able to scan 285 channels so far………….worse I can't open the dirty channels.
Is there any flaw in this software?

What are the ways for avoiding TV license and watching TV. I dont like BBC. If I watch regional chanels on my satelite and dont watch BBC then also I have to pay license fee? I hope you understood my point.
If you can prove you only watch DVDs or videos, then you shouldn't have to pay for a licence. There was a court case some years ago (before DVDs) where a man was prosecuted for not having a TV license. He showed he only used a TV to watch videos and had no TV aerial connected, and so was aquitted.
If you watch TV on a PC, then you are still recieving TV transmissions so need a licence, even if you only watch local news on ITV via satelite.

Ok, How CAN I set up a streaming internet TV station/channel? I don't want it to be live (I don't use web cams) , I want it to be all programming. I would prefer that this would be an already made service that could help me although, if someone was to provide me a tutorial on how to do this myself, it would be greatly appreciated. Also, I would need to be able to set these videos and content in an order (like a lineup). Any suggestions or HELP?
I recommend using Adobe Flash. Create a player for your website and then just stream it video files from your studio.
I am doing a paper on the effects of games, television and the Internet on children. I want to know how often parents check the ESRB rating to see if the game they are buying is appropriate for their child. I also want to know how often parents control what their kids watch on TV and what they view on the Internet.
I always check the rating of games.
I always know what my kids are watching on TV (which is limited to 2 hours per day maximum) and at the end of the day check the internet to see what they have been into (and computer time is limited to 1 1/2 hours per day). They need to get out of the house, run around, play, just be kids!
