What's a good website to watch television shows online? Free or paysite.?
Looking for a place to watch entire seasons really…even if I have to pay. Netflix doesn't have that great of a selection.
I like Hulu. http://www.hulu.com

My parents have an extra satellite receiver they don't use at their house and since it is a lot cheaper to just pay the extra $5 for the second receiver than to have another account of my own. Then use a Slingbox to transmit the programming to the Internet. Access the Internet from my apartment in a different city, then get one of those devices that connect your computer to your TV. There you go, I would have TV for much less than the regular monthly fee. Would this work??
Yes it would. Although personally, I think it would be easier to just buy another dish and LNB and take that receiver over to your house and hook it up there. They say you have to have the phone line connected bla bla bla but experience says you can do without it. Just can't order any payperview movies unless you call it in for an additional charge. They'll never know the box isn't in the same house.
Keep in mind too if you go the slingbox route, think of how much bandwidth it'll take up to send a decent picture and sound. 300 or 400kbps perhaps? That's a good chunk of most people's upload allocations.
I have a VGA port on my PC, but that only streams the PC onto the TV. I also have a VGA-IN port on my PC Monitor. Can I hook my TV up to the monitor's VGA-IN to record TV?
No, you would have to buy a TV Tuner card for your computer.
When I go channel hopping on my satellite TV system and come across Indian, Japanese, Middle Eastern, etc. channels I notice that a lot of them seem to set the volume level so high there's actual sound distortion. They do the same with Asian films - many bollywood films suffer from this annoyingly high volume sound distortion, particularly noticeable when music is playing. Why do they set the volume too high?
because their language is so damn hard to understand that even the authentic people need the volume high
i have the right cable but my computer might need some configuring or maybe i need to change some settings here but i dont know how. Ive tried Fn F4 or 5 but it doesnt work. Need some help on how to make this work. Im using windows xp. Thanks.
im using HP. windows xp
Every brand of laptop is different. Since you didn't list yours we can't look it up.
But it is marked on the function keys with either a picture of a monitor or it says lcd or crt or something similar. Or consult your manual.
Press the FN key and the indicated key once to turn it on and again to turn it off. Some laptops also turn off the laptop screen in a third positition.
I understand that I need a tv tuner card on my pc but i was wondering what a good set up would be to watch hulu to my tv via pc. i.e. what type of cabling? how about sound, my pc speakers are not great but would like sound on my tv is it possible? any recommendations on tv tuner card? thanks.
You don't need a TV tuner card. You take the output on your PC (VGA, DVI, HDMI, S-Video) and hook it up to an input on your TV. HDMI is best followed by DVI then VGA and finally S-Video. HDMI is the only connection here that will also carry sound, for the others take an audio Y-cable and plug the 3.5" jack into your headphone slot on your computer and the white/red on the audio input on your TV. Basically you are using your TV as a monitor.
i got a new laptop and it has mediasmart software on it and i try to watch internet tv except when i click it there is only a button that say update mediasmart tv and i click it and nothing happens. I was wondering if i can watch shows free or not and how to watch them, i looked on the hp website for a update to the internet tv and the one i download is apparently corrupted or it doesnt work or somethign so im confused and need help, cause this feature seems intresting to have
Essentially, the software that came with the box is a bit screwed. Use the HP Health thingy and have it scan your PC. That will reveal that there are updates available for all of the MediaSmart software, including the TV.
Mine was the same. Tried "HP updates" from the menu - nothing. MS updates - nothing. Only the PC Health thing revealed the updates from within the HP ftp server. Once I updated all the MediaSmart stuff, it worked fine.
Note - downloading the update manually from the HP support site didn't seem to work - only using the PC Health thingy worked for me.
I have a direct 100mb connection for Verizon dsl; it's an HP PC. I also have the Verizon package (television, phone, internet, etc.) In the middle of the day my computer starts emitting random commercials and radio broadcasts out of the speakers. I tried disconnecting the internet, and then tried directly pulling the receiving plug, but the sounds continue. They stop randomly as well.
What is happening? Do I have a virus?
More than likely. Try Malwarebytes or SUPERAntiSpyware.
