I think those should be used in conjunction so you can look anything up you see on tv. Plus, it compensates for not having a big screen making it a more interactive experience?
Yes, I need a big screen.
One clear thing is the convenience consideration. To switch between t.v. and Web network use on the same machine may seem convenient at first. But after a while most people would clearly prefer to have the option to sit at the desktop in the same room as the t.v. or on a seat with a laptop and be able to access the internet when the T.V. is working also.
Web connection on computers is considered more adaptable. The computers provide so many functions and can be portable.
The Web on t.v.s has been gaining more prominence recently, but at the end of the day it's a quicker fix-up, offering less options. I have found in staying in hotels that web can be available through the t.v. with a easy keyboard connected to it. I thought this a convenient thing at first. But really it's not as good as having your laptop, lounging on your bed or seat accessing what you have to or want to through The Web, while looking at music video, news, sport, drama, documentary etc.
Naturally for hotels, it's the most likely option and convenient option for web access provided in the room itself, so that people don't have to bring laptops. Few hotels are going to offer an actual web computer in the room, and the room would be expensive to have your own office and web computer to use in it.
However, in the end, I do agree with your viewpoint. That Web network access is available very easily on computers and it makes good sense that t.v. and The Web are separated in this way.
But the time has definitely been that t.v. web network access should me much more widely available. For example for access in bedrooms, for people without a laptop, where perhaps one household member has one or it is shared in a family. And just for access in the main room of the house, where the desktop computer is in a study, office, hall or other room.
You can find t.v.s with web network access to buy. But you may have to really look, and there may not be such variations you are looking for available; e.g. t.v. size, type and quality, sound performance without a speaker system, both speed of Web access available and storage availability by disk drive capacity.
