I have a S-Video cable and both the TV and my laptop have a S-Video connection. But I don’t know how to use my laptop so it will show the movie on the tv screen. help?

I am Setting up my apartment and I have not yet bought a computer or tv.but I am trying to do when I get them is connect my computer to my tv and use my tv as the monitor.is there brands of tv and pc that I can buy?.what do I need?

Any HDTV that has an HDMI port can be connected to a computer with DVI or HDMI outputs on the video card.

That’s what I’m doing with mine: http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f347/armchairaviator/computer/IMG_0880c.jpg It’s hooked up using a DVI-to-HDMI cable. (Yes, DVI is compatible with HDMI).

So make sure you buy an HDTV with HDMI ports, and make sure the computer you are buying has either a DVI or HDMI output. (Keep in mind an HDTV’s HDMI port will NOT work with a computer VGA output.)
