I want to watch my favorite shows online, what are a couple good sites to use besides hulu, megavideo, and veoh?
hulu, megavideo, and veoh are good sites to watch tv shows besides these, there are some more sites where you can watch tv shows online free. Here are these sites

cwtv.com
i plugged my computer to my tv, and i don’t have a controller to switch between the two. so i need a television program.
You might check out Slingbox. It might be a couple of hundred which I would guess is more than you want to pay but it will not only let you watch tv and video sources on your computer but also let you watch from anywhere you have a good internet connection. The sling connection will go back to your computer and the slingbox and you can watch your local tv or if you have a dvd player hooked up (I have a sony 400 disc machine) you can select and watch any dvd you want. You should be able to get one from Best Buy.
I have an hp laptop that I would like to connect to my Sony Bravia hdtv, I was wondering what type of cord/cable would be best to do this/is it possible to only have to use one single cable and get both video and audio through the tv?
The problem is that, usually computers have separate video and audio cards. So, the signals are not combined coming out of the computer. I can’t think of a single cord solution at the moment. Perhaps HDMI, however again the computer would have to put the audio on the HDMI output.
I have free internet service connected with my job and my office PC
wow… didn’t know they still had those… I used to have one way back, before M$ took it over…
it is an internet appliance that you can connect to your television, for web surfing, etc….
it is not a full blown PC, and even if you already have internet access, you are still required to pay monthly, or annually for the service.. to me this is a rip off… I am surfing the web right now on my 42 inch plasma with a full blown PC… and all i have to pay for is the internet connection…
if you do not want to buy, or build a full blown HTPC, then you can always connect a laptop to your PC… (i recommend a bluetooth keyboard, and xbox 360 controller for windows with xpadder software for mouse control)

I’d like to set something up from my computer so I could have a nightly lineup of shows that pull out randomly from different playlists.
So for example I could set it up to play an episode of That 70s Show, Family Guy, Futurama, and Stargate, each night. But not in their chronological order.
I’d like to load up the program and have it run so it chooses a random episode from each playlist so I get a random episode of each episode, but set up in the order that I want.
Try FastMovieShare.com
might work for you
Here you can get it.

hello all
i went to my friends house the other day and saw he had a new tv.
when i turned it on to watch, it had this system i had never seen before.
there was a box that was connected to his internet connection, and aso connected to his tv. this box was giving him cable channels from the internet, sort of like eurovox or osmething but i was coming from his internet connection
i know this is not a service from a provider such as virgin, it is something like eurovox etc
but can someone tell me wht this is called
thanks
It’s called ATT U-Verse…
They use Cat 5 wiring to deliver signal to the box.
Seen several places that have it.
Must be cheaper to install than good ol’ RF Coax…
I have connected my laptop to my TV using a VGA lead so I can watch videos. How do I get the sound from my laptop to the tv using VGA?
Er VGA is a video cable not audio.
Your best bet it to get a headphones jack to RCA (the white and red tv cables) cable. Just plug it into the same channel as the VGA cable is on.
If you have a sounds system they usually come with one in the box somewhere.
What are the best programs to get free satelite tv on your pc?
Everyone I have talked to who has bought it has said it sucks. Channels are not what they expected, no premium channels, lots of foreign language.
Basically a wasted investment.
My LCD has inputs for my PC (using HDMI) and a DTV tuner built-in. Can I use the DTV tuner to watch TV in a window while I’m on the HDMI input? Some TVs have PIP for this, but viewsonic doesn’t think much of PIP.
I don’t want to have to keep circling through the inputs to jump b/w TV and computer.
no, not unless you get a TV card for your computer.
