I have a satellite as well as a local cable to view tv. I want to watch (and record if possible) it on my laptop via a wifi because my pc and cables are in different rooms.
You want a Slingbox or a Hava. I don’t think you can record with that. The Slingbox connects to your satellite and cable box, as well as a network connection (can be wireless), and you log onto it with a web page, and have a screen and virtual remote to control your boxes as if you were at the TV.
I never have seen such sh*TTY quality cable tv and internet vids any I do today. I remember the quality was ALLOT better in 2005. WTF is happening.

I would suggest camstudio. or real player now has a feature that you can hover over a youtube video or other things and download it directly but i am not quite sure if it works on live streams.Both softwares are free you can get them from download.com
