Well, you can try Satellite TV software to watch live TV online.
Download and install it on your PC, you could watch thousands of worldwide TV channels like ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox, Speed, ESPN, TNT, BBC, Sky, CCTV, CW, Local … live online legally, comfortably and in good quality. No matter where you live.

What would be healthy amount of time for tv/video games/computer usage per day for a child?

Filed under: tv on my computer — admin @ 8:03 pm

I have 10 and 14 year old stepsons. They "never" do anything with friends, and I dont even know if they have "any".They are not involved with any extracurricular activities, and when they have been, they have been "very" limited, and they have never stuck with them "very"long. They get a minimal amount of physical activity and have free reign over the food and snacks of the house,95% of which are nothing but junk. They prefer to stay inside, and spend upwards of 5 hours a day in front of xbox,tv and computer on school days.On weekends and vacations, even in the summer, they wake up at 7/ 8:00 in the morning, and rotate between tv, computer, and video games until they go to bed usually by 10 pm,unless my wife forces them to ride somewhere with her once or twice a week for a couple hours. Is this acceptable? My wife says its completely normal and she sees nothing wrong. If i say she should try to limit this usage to a degree,i get lashed out at called a psycho just for merely mentioning it.Would appreciate some advice.

I know the feeling! My SKs get (nearly) free reign of the TV/computer/VG when they’re here which sucks because they aren’t here that often! We’ve been discussing limiting it and making them do *other* things, though - because sitting here watching them glued to screens for their entire visit isn’t what either of us consider "quality family time".

I was thinking for their evening visits that 1 hr combined for computer & video game usage, and 1-2 hrs most for TV, or *one* movie, whichever is shorter. (So if they wanted to check their e-mail and then have a "family movie night" after dinner or whatever.)

All-day engagments (such as weekends) I was thinking 2 hrs combined for computer/video game usage, maybe one before dinner and one after dinner. With 2-3 hrs TV (movies included) MAXIMUM. Seriously - bring some toys over, read a book, color, do crafts, play with the dog, go to the park, spend time with friends, play in the back yard, board games, card games - anything but sitting in front of a screen all day!!!

Should I buy TV or machine that can watch TV by PC?

Filed under: watch pc tv — admin @ 8:02 pm

If machine that can watch TV by PC costs 150 dollars and
TV costs 350 dollars?

The wear & tear on your PC will end up costing you a lot more & you won’t have TV when your PC goes. I would go with the Television, it won’t hurt any other hard-ware if it breaks down & you wouldn’t have the cost of repair for several pieces.

How did people spend their time before TV, Internet, and cell phones?

Filed under: television on internet — admin @ 3:30 pm

I’m just curious how people spent their time in the days before television, Internet, and cell phones. Seems a good percentage of our daily lives are devoted to one of these three things now, and I’m wondering how that time was spent before we all became so reliant on technology and looking at screens all day.

Such activities pursued during the pre-television time were often spent inventing the television.
The good, quaint people also spent time together, with neighbors and friends.
Additionally, they rutted like mad pigs in the fields.

How do I get sound from my computer to my TV?

Filed under: tv on my computer — admin @ 3:28 pm

I am using an S-Video cable to connect my PC to my TV and transfer my computer images to my television. I play videos from the internet (hulu, etc.) on my television. However, there is no sound from my TV when I do this - only from my computer speakers. What cable should I use to connect my computer to my television so the sound will also play on my TV?

you’ll need an 1/8" sterio to RCA converter which will give you the red and white cables that will hook up to your tv’s inputs. the 1/8" part goes in to you headphone jack on the laptop.

Hope this helps

Is satellite tv on your computer true? Is it a good deal?

Filed under: tv on computer — admin @ 3:27 pm

There are a lot of offer in the internet of having cables channels for $49.95 that you can see and watch in your laptop anywhere around the world. Is this true? How about the quality of the picture? Is it like real tv on your PC?

This is the same question you asked a year ago, and if you search yahoo answers, you see the same thing. Don’t you think everyone would have it if it was as good as they make it sound>?

how do tv licensing people check if you are watching live tv on the internet?

Filed under: tv on internet — admin @ 3:26 pm

Yes…
in exactly the same way as they check for normal TV.

They ask you… and in your guilty/innocence you admit it.
they then ask you to sign that you admitted it.

There has (apparently) yet to be a court case where the TV licence people presented their evidence. Magistrates (understandably) accept the word of the ‘professionals’ and your admission, however if challenged… the evidence (if they had it) seems to be too secret to reveal in court… !

The internet… would be very difficult to prove..
do they come in pairs..or only 1 witness…
they have no right to enter the property.. or even demand that you speak with them…

So even if they claimed they saw you through the window …..

Worry not.. it is an ancient piece of nonsensicle legislation that has passed its time.
TV’s are used for more than watching TV
PC’s are used for more than writing documents…and calculating sums…

Want to get a knock on the door having been asked for the address where teh PC was installed… like you do, when you buy a TV ?
why not ? you can watch TV on a PC…so surely the same rule applies ?
