i have tried many thing to connect it but have not been able to have anything displayed on my television and was wondering is i might be doing something wrong or not doing something i need to dd. i know i have the cables right but might not be pressing the right buttons i have a toshiba - satellite lap top , i have tried to press fn= f5 but that doesnt work - please help

S-video connection wont work properly with different screen sizes of laptop and TV.

Connect 15 pins male-to-male cable to TV, set TV to VGA, right click on PC screen saver and select graphic/output to/monitor. It’s done.

  1. FYI, those VGA-to-S-Video converters are intended for use with graphics cards that have the capability to output an S-Video signal through its VGA port. Those adapters will NOT work with just any VGA port.

I doubt the VGA port on your Toshiba Satellite can output an S-Video signal. Which is why the adapter will not work on your setup.
