How can I connect my PC and TV from one cable line?

Filed under: cable tv on pc — admin @ 10:09 pm

I purchased a new TV that I can also use as a monitor. Do I need to split the cable and run one line to the modem and the other to the TV or is there a way to connect the cable to the TV from the modem.

When I connect the PC to the TV will cable TV run thru the PC to the TV just like it does when you hook cable to a VCR and then to TV.

A modem is a device which connects you to the internet (simply put)
A monitor is a device which displays the video signal from your computer.

To use your TV as a monitor, you’ll need to connected it to your computer using a VGA (monitor) cable (or something similar).

You would hook up your TV as any normal TV, using is as a monitor as the same as viewing a DVD from your dvd player, it’s just another connection for a separate device.
