Watch Satellite TV On Your PC

Why does my tv after being connected via HDMI cable to my PC not use its own speakers?

Filed under: cable tv on pc — admin @ 7:58 am

I recently connected my tv to my PC with an HDMI cable. They both have HDMI ports and the video works fine. However the audio will only come out of my PC speakers. What do I have to do to get it to use the TV’s speakers?

I am on windows xp if that makes a difference.

If you are using HDMI with no adapters, you may need to go into the tv audio menu and change the source to HDMI.

If you are using a DVI to HDMI adapter or patch cord, DVI does not carry audio and you need to use a seperate patch cord.

  3. It should play audio through the TV Speakers. If it does not then check your audio out put setting by going to: the start menu >>> control panel >>> Audio. If nothing looks wrong after that then you keep everything connected and reboot your computer while still connected to the T.V. It has been told that some T.Vs do not support this audio feature. If that is the case then I would go to http://www.DataCablingSupply.com and Buy the items I will list Below and that is a promise you will have audio. For around $12 your problem will be solved also this will allow you to play an Iphone, MP3 Player or anything that uses a 3.5mm Headphone jack through the speaker on your Television

    Adapter: $2.75
