What cable should i buy to whatch from pc movies, on tv with high quality. I need around 7 foot
If your computer supports it, definitely get a HDMI cable. Unless you have a pretty new computer, it probably will not have a HDMI port, which means it probably has a DVI port (unless its really old/cheap, which means it could have a VGA port). Then, your TV might have a DVI port, if not, they have DVI-to-HDMI or DVI-to-component adapters, one or both of which your (I’m assuming HD or at least pretty new) TV most likely has.
HDMI is the squarish black one, DVI is the yellow one.

I’ve been using an RGB component cable to connect a labtop monitor to my tv.
Everything works fine when I play Youtube or movies from websites.
However, the tv screen won’t show the picture when I play dvds through the labtop. All it shows is the menu bar of the dvd.
I would appreciate any input on this.
i bet u wont get the answer here..

Hi
This is a difficult one. You will need expert assistance. You can try asking here

Its a paid service and cheap. I personally like this service but thats just me.”
I was wondering if a simple monitor could be used instead of an actual television. The TV has a tuner, but so does the cable box, so I’m asking if a TV is necessary to use your cable for all the movies and programs … and would it work just like a TV. And if so, what connection modifications would need to be made, if any?
In North America, you can get TV signals in analog or QAM digital. Therefore, to receive channels, your receiver has to have one or both of those tuners. A monitor normally has no tuner. You can get a tuner card for your PC that will do the job.
If you have cable TV service with a cable box, you can connect the video output of the box to your monitor and the audio output to a separate amplifier and speaker system.
ok im looking for a cable to connect the pc to tv so you can see whats on the computer screen, on the television. Would a VGA cable display sound and video or just video?
Just video.
Vdo is coming…..but no sound. How could I solve this problem.even when I am recording tv pogroms …there as well no sound.I have a Realtek sound card.
plug the sound throught a line in port in your pc
I purchased a new TV that I can also use as a monitor. Do I need to split the cable and run one line to the modem and the other to the TV or is there a way to connect the cable to the TV from the modem.
When I connect the PC to the TV will cable TV run thru the PC to the TV just like it does when you hook cable to a VCR and then to TV.
A modem is a device which connects you to the internet (simply put)
A monitor is a device which displays the video signal from your computer.
To use your TV as a monitor, you’ll need to connected it to your computer using a VGA (monitor) cable (or something similar).
You would hook up your TV as any normal TV, using is as a monitor as the same as viewing a DVD from your dvd player, it’s just another connection for a separate device.
I have a VGA Port on my laptop and I want to run my laptop on my tv to watch movies. On my tv I have 4-Pin S-Video and RCA plugins. I was wondering what kind of cable or converter box should I buy to be able to do so.
Don’t bother.
You can buy a VGA to composite video converter, but the quality will be pretty bad. Not worth wasting your money. Wait until you get an HDTV.
Now I got video on my TV from PC using an DVI to HDMI cable but no sound.
I heard there was a cable that has a left and right (red and white) audio output from the PC.
You want a 3.5mm to RCA cable.
I’ll even link one for you…

Just an example, I wouldn’t buy that one.
