Even If i had a copyright disclaimer at the beginning of the channel saying im not doing it for a profit and I dont own drake and josh. but i have my channel’s logo on the channel.
Hmm…I don’t think it would be illegal, as long as you have the disclaimer.
It’s like people uploading TV shows to Youtube; if there’s a copyright disclaimer, Youtube doesn’t take it down.

The best place that I have found where you can watch tv online for a small fee is Satellite Direct , includes loads of Satellite channels and is a really good service . It costs a little dollars to buy, but then you never have to pay for tv again. There is no monthly fee, and the software is yours forever. You get over 3500 different channels from all over the world, including a lot of sports channels. Ever since I bought it , I haven’t paid a cent for cable television because I get it all for free on my computer . It’s also much more convenient since now I can take my TV anywhere. I will never go back to the huge monthly fees for cable. The cost of a lifetime’s use of this product is less than one month’s cost for digital cable . even if i had a copyright disclaimer stating that i do not own the shows that i put on the channel and that i give full credit to nickelodeon and im not making a profit of it. but i have my channel logo on my channel. please answer its important best answer gets 10 points
Yes. The lawyers for Viacom (Nickelodeon’s parent company) will thank you for the practice. Legally, you’re going to need legal clearances from Nickelodeon (and possibly have to purchase the rights to some series produced outside MTV Networks, which Nickelodeon is part of) before you can legally stream the Nick program backlog.
Besides…do you remember the crap a couple of years ago between Viacom and YouTube?
Is it possible to use a Qam detecting device to pick up Qam HDTV channels from an active broadband Internet line, when you have any kind of TV subscribtion? No guesses, please. I want to hear from people who can actually do this or know somebody who has. Thanks!
I’m talking about picking up Qam channels on the broadband cable line, not an ethernet line. I have Comcast, so the internet and tv come thru the cable. I was thinking of ditching my TV subscription (but keeping the internet) and was wondering if the device could still pick up channels…
Impossible.
QAM is an analog modulated signal.
Ethernet is all packet-based.
i would like to know if i connect my nintendo wii to the internet can i run tv channels from the net through my wii
Short Answer: Depends on the computers on your network & how many headaches you’re willing to put up with.
Long Answer: You CAN, but due to the limitations of the Wii hardware & the Internet Channel, you’ll need to use some software on a computer connected to your network to do so. You’ll need a fast computer with a lot of RAM as it’ll have to do the grunt work on converting the video streams into something that the Wii & the Internet Channel can handle.
All you do is pick up the Orb Media Player ( http://www.orb.com ) & install it on your computer. Please be aware that you’ll need at least a 2.4 Ghz processor, a broadband connection & a computer that’s capable of handling Windows Vista or 7 (as they have similar RAM requirements) for maximum enjoyment, specially for streaming video.
Once you have Orb installed on your computer, you just log into Orb’s MyCast website to access your media & streams from your computer.
I will note that if you have Winamp installed on your computer, you can just pick up Winamp Remote (which is powered by Orb) to do this as well.
Please be aware that video quality will most likely be less than desired on the Wii due to it’s hardware limitations, but it’s possible.
Hope this helps!
