How to hook up satellite receiver, Panasonic surround sound to a samsung lcd tv?

Filed under: satellite tv receivers — admin @ 2:41 am

So the surround sounds works when we are playing dvds but it won’t work when we are watching our satellite tv. I don’t know the right terms for the cables or anything so if you could dumb down the cords to like colour of cords! That would be great! Or if someone has a diagram that would be helpful that would be great too! None of the instructions in the manuals are helpful!!!

you need to go from the audio right(red) and left(white) OUTPUT from the back of your DVD Player to an available set of audio right & left INPUTS on the back of your home theater receiver. the yellow jack (video) goes from the TV box to one of yellow inputs on the back of your TV. than use the remote to select/change the input on your receiver to the find the input you are currently utilizing. and you will get the audio out of your speakers. don’t be worried if it only comes out of two speakers. the TV signal might only be in stereo, not surround sound like DVDs.

How to connect two satellite receivers to two different tvs?

Filed under: satellite tv receivers — admin @ 5:15 am

how can i connect two satellite receivers to separately to two separate tvs?

Take Satellite reciever #1….run a Cable from it to TV #1 and one out to LNA #1

Take Satellite reciever #2….run a Cable from it to TV#2 and one out to LNA #2

Call up the Satellite company to turn on your account.

Now if you want BOTH satellites on BOTH TVs, you’ll have to use a lot of wire on the long run and maybe a video amp too.

Where do I point my satellite dish to get free satellite tv?

Filed under: satellite tv receivers — admin @ 12:01 am

I’ll say this up front: I’m not looking to steal satellite channels that I would have to pay for (although I am a bit curious as to how that works, but that’s not what this question is about).

I have a satellite TV dish and a satellite receiver box. If the brands matter, I can post additional information. I do not subscribe to satellite TV and I do not have any cards that go into the receivers.

Are there any freely available satellite channels, and if so, where can I find information about the location of the satellites and anything else I need to do to receive the channels?
My receiver box is Hughes Network Systems Model HIRD-B2 and also says on it Star Sight and DSS (a registered trademark of DIRECTV Inc, a unit of Hughes Electronics Corp). I have a round satellite dish from DirecTV.

Yes, the equipment matters. Much of the satellite transmissions now days are digital and you must have a digital receiver for those. A good part are encrypted, but there is still some stuff in the clear. Also, there is some analog programming still up there.

Here is a link to what’s up in the sky, have fun. http://www.lyngsat.com/

ADDITIONAL ANSWER: That equipment is specific to DirecTV and will only work with their service. You must purchase a subscription from DirecTV to make that equipment work.

Can you hook up satellite tv to 5 lcd tv’s and only have 2 receivers, (only connect coax. to 3 of them)?

Filed under: satellite tv receivers — admin @ 4:36 am

Well, you can find some coax splitters at Radio Shack and hook them up like that. The only thing is that all the tvs connected to the same receiver will show the same thing. I dont think you can have all the tvs showing something different if you only have 2 receivers. I could be wrong though…

How can I hook up my DVD player and satellite dish receiver to my TV at the same time?

Filed under: satellite tv receivers — admin @ 5:40 am

I have DirecTV for my satellite TV provider, and have a receiver for two different TVs in two different rooms of the house. I also have a DVD player in each room, and used to be able to have both the DVD player and the satellite receiver in each room hooked up to the back of the their respective TV at the same time. Now, DirecTV came and performed a mandatory upgrade to our receiver, giving us a new one, and we were told by the DirecTV guy who came that we cannot have the DVD player and the satellite receiver hooked up to the TV at the same time because he changed the channel on the TV that our satellite is viewed on. That’s VERY inconveniencing as I use both on a daily basis, and have a very large entertainment center for each TV that cannot be moved easily.

Is there a way I can hook up both to the TV and be able to use both? Is there a way I can change what channel on the TV that my DVD player is viewed on? Right now the DVD player at satellite use the same channel, and I think that’s the problem.

You will need to post the brands and model number of your TV and DVD player. Most TVs have multiple inputs, meaning you can have multiple devices connected to the TV at the same time, like game consoles, VCR, DVD and whatever. This is accomplished through a variety of inputs. Not including HD TV, there are three that may be on your TV. Cable/Antenna in (like the cable from your wall), Composite in (three plugs, yellow, red and white) and S-Video in (round plug with some tiny pins).

You will have to figure out what outputs are on your DVD player and see if any of them match up to what’s on the TV. If so you will need an appropriate cable to make the connection, and then select the correct input on your TV.

If your TV only has one input, then you are out of luck.

My suggestion is to take pictures of the back of your TV (or front or side if there are any kind of ports or connectors), DVD player and Cable box and take those pictures to Radio Shack. Ask them how to make the connection and then ask for the cheapest cables they have to do the job. Don’t buy the overpriced Monster Cables.

Don’t take pictures of the front of the devices, they will need to see what kind of ports are on each device to male the right suggestion.

OK here’s a nice challenging question, How do I connect two satellite receivers to two TVs using only one dish

Filed under: satellite tv receivers — admin @ 7:31 am

I have two receivers, two TVs in different rooms, and I have one dish. One of the receivers is already connected, but the other one is in my room, and I want to connect it without using any professional help, I want to do it by myself, using your help guys. So is anyone up to the challenge??

Easy, if the dish has dual LNB. If you look at the dish you’ll have the dish looking part and a support coming off the dish part that holds the horn and LNB. If your dish only has one of these horns you can’t do what you want if you have 2 or more you can hook a receiver up to each of these LNB (low noise block amplifier) each has a standard coaxial connection on them and only one is going to be hooked up to a TV the others are so you can do exactly what you want multiple TVs off one dish. If you only have a single LNB check with a local dealer maybe you can buy a dish & dual LNB or check on ebay, you may find a deal there, or garage sale.

Connect the output of your converter box the the Ant In on the Sat box. When you turn off the sat box the digital TV from the antenna will be passed out the cable to the TV.

have H.D. TV Receiver Satellite dish Good reception with HD channels but poor with regular channels. Help?

Filed under: satellite tv receivers — admin @ 6:31 am

reception exellent on HD channels but poor on regular channels cuts on & off what is the problem?

You need to re-align your dish as the HD channels and standard channels are on two different satellites. The standard channel satellite is getting a weak signal.

Go to: http://www.sathookup.com/satellite-network/index.php to find a local satellite installer to re-align your dish.

Do TV Tuners with work Satellite receivers?

Filed under: satellite tv receivers — admin @ 5:43 am

I have BellTV (or satellite; whatever you would like to call it) here in Canada and I just recently bought a TV tuner. The TV tuner is ATI TV Wonder 650 (it’s a small box and connects with USB to the computer). It has two coaxial cable ports as well as the three common colours and a large round thing similar to what you can plug old fashion mouse and keyboards into (there’s the letter ‘S’ beside it). I just recently bought a HDTV and am not working with HD just yet, simply SD. Is it possible to hook up the ATI TV Wonder 650 up to the HDTV? The HDTV has numerous plug-ins including a couple of those coloured ones and even that one with the ‘S’ and one coaxial cable port, as well as two HDMI cable slots. If it’s possible, how do I do it? Would I just hook up the satellite’s coaxial cable right into the box and then display it right onto my monitor and hit record? Or is this not even possible. Because if this is not possible, then the companies better start getting out the TV Tuners that are capable of capturing satellite TV.

Thanks.

The ATI TV Wonder 650 does not connect to the TV. It is a tuner/capture device which has what inputs the TV already has, for RF and SD A/V. You can connect your Bell TV box to that to record or watch on your computer, preferable with S-video and stereo audio for best quality..

To connect the TV to your computer, you connect it to the graphics card, with VGA likely, or possibly DVI or HDMI.
