the cable is connected to both, fits well, the tv is in the correct channel for the HDMI, i set my computer to recognize the screen, it says the tv screen was recognised, everything is fine. ‘cept the tv doesn’t show the computer screen. it’s black.
all it says on the tv is "no input signal"
however, eveything is perfectly connected…am i missing something really important?
First…make sure the computers resolution matches the TV’s native resolution and make sure the video drivers are up-to-date.
If that doesn’t help, then try this: shut down the computer and turn off the TV. Make sure HDMI cable is connected to both, then boot up your computer. Once the computer is ready to go, turn on the TV. Hopefully the computer will recognize the TV this way!
Hope this works for you!
It also has like some audio/video ports on it, which is mainly what I am interested in.
You can watch t.v. on your computer?
The backlight on my laptop screen is out so I cant see anything. Is there a way to use the TV as a monitor? Do I need a cable? I would appreciate any kind of help.
if your laptop has a s-video output you can get a s-vdeo to s-video or a s-video to 3 rca cable, depending what inputs your TV has.

I’m trying to connect a laptop to my plasma television. The television identifys the connection as RGA and the computer identifys it as VGA, yet the connectors seem to fit both of them. I connected them and I can’t seem to get a picture so I don’t know if I’m doing something wrong or if they just aren’t compatible. It seems like they wouldn’t have fit in the slots if they weren’t correct! Anyone have any answers? PLEEEEEESE!!!!!!!!!!!
I never heard of a connector called RGA, thier is RGB and RCA, I am sure your plasma TV has the RGB connector, that fits to your VGA cable, because they are the same, if failed, then you can buy a VGA to RCA converter, like this one

So my satellite on my television isn’t going to work for about two weeks and there are some programs I want to see really bad. Are there any FREE programs or FREE websites that show the shows as they are playing on real television online? Thank’s so much in advance.

I currently live on campus, and my dorm has free basic cable access (via an outlet in the room). I have no TV, but a laptop computer. The TV tuners I’ve seen appear to only provide regular TV, which require an antenna and provide spotty reception. Is there a way for my computer to utilize my cable TV service without an antenna?
I may be assuming that cable service does not require an antenna. I apologize if that’s wrong. Thanks in advance.
>I may be assuming that cable service does not require an antenna.
Cable service does not require an antenna.
All you need is an USB TV tuner & software; you just connect a coax cable from the cable outlet to the USB tuner.
Usually when people say "basic cable" they mean analog cable. Check to see if this is the case.
If that’s what you have you could get by with just about any analog only tuner ever made; I’ve never heard of one that was "antenna only", but check the specs to see if it has a "NTSC" cable ready tuner. Used ones should be real cheap because broadcasts and many cable systems are switching to digital signals.
If you buy a new USB tuner, make sure it has both an analog (NTSC) and digital cable (QAM) tuners. Some digital USB tuners have been made for digital (ATSC) antenna broadcasts only. Some don’t have analog (NTSC) tuners either.
ATSC tuners are used for digital over the air (antenna) broadcasts.
I have a few movies on my computer that I’ve downloaded through the digital copy thing, but I can’t watch them with my family unless they all huddle around my laptop. Is this there a special adapter or something for my Dell laptop and (probably 10 years old…) Sharp television??
Most new HDTVs have VGA or HDMI ports, if so look in your TV manual to find out about connecting a laptop which will almost certainly have either of these connecters. If you do not have an HDTV, you probably will be unable to connect your laptop unless it has a S-Video/ Composite video(unlikely) port.
I have plugged my computer into my TV via one HDMI cable, and the resolution suddenly changes on my monitor, and the television flashes a little, but ultimately does not show anything but a blue screen on my television.
P.S. I have vista.
Any ideas?
Okay, on your changer, look for a button that says input. Press it, its should say video__ keep pressing it until it pops up, but wait for each video___ to load first. Good luck!
I have a stereo TV and the sound is great. I was wondering what wiring I would need if I put the television near the computer PCU and instead of using crappy speakers, let the sermons and stuff I listen to come right out of my television. ps I don’t need to listen to music via the tv so no need to get deeply concerned about the quality. Mostly sermons. thank you.

also by doing this if you have a large screen you can browse large screen on your tv using your computer.. and audio works to… you need to use certain wires and converter boxes, but i don’t know much… but this guide will give you the details
—————–
what the two headed wire does is that it acts like a normal headphone plug on one end, and then splits into the red and white cables commonly used for sound from entertainment systems
