Or do you believe that people have even gotten rid of their television sets to be on the internet more?
Are you for television ?
Or for internet?
Or both?
Much less TV. When I was home, I used to constantly watch tv before I had internet. Now I only turn it on if something I like is coming on and I check the listings every few hours to see what will be on. I like to watch TV in the morning because my computer takes too long to start and I chill in bed for awhile.
I’m just curious how people spent their time in the days before television, Internet, and cell phones. Seems a good percentage of our daily lives are devoted to one of these three things now, and I’m wondering how that time was spent before we all became so reliant on technology and looking at screens all day.
Such activities pursued during the pre-television time were often spent inventing the television.
The good, quaint people also spent time together, with neighbors and friends.
Additionally, they rutted like mad pigs in the fields.
I know there’s that commercial that’s on television all the time, but they only let you have one free, but then you have to cancel the subscription, and I just don’t trust that. Is there anywhere online that I could look up my credit score for free?

I want to start a website that distributes videos that people would prefer to watch on a television. What technologies would I use to let my videos be downloaded via the internet but watched instantaneously on the TV?
Alot of technology for this is already in peoples household. The ps3 and xbox 360 both allow for media to be streamed from the computer. Also, many households have tvs that connect to the network in their homes. This will also be a way for streaming media. Most windows 7 computers have the option to stream media. Your problem will be that the tv must accept a signal from your router that it can read as media. A technology that can pick up media and output high def would be great.

Is it possible? I know MLB makes you pay to watch the games online. I was wondering then if I bought the online package if I could somehow watch it on my TV also. My cable box let’s me go on the internet with my TV.
you could try a tv software to watch live MLB baseball games online. It has lots of worldwide TV channels like MASN, YES, ESPN, TNT, ABC, CBS, Fox, CBC, NBC, BBC, Local… Download and install a satellite tv software on your PC.
with it, you could watch live MLB baseball games online with high quality. Here are top 5 Satellite TV software reviews :

Hope this could help you !
I know about justin.tv and stuff like that. I’m talking about a service where, let’s say, I can get HBO live streaming on my desktop. Just a cable provider like Verizon directly to my computer and not tv. directly Or where I can get ESPN, Comedy Central, and Fox live and streaming, without the horrible quality or peer captured sites. Does anything like this exsist? If no, why?
Streaming video requires lots of bandwidth. What you describe is very close to IPTV, offered for now by U-verse and FiOs (Verizon), but you need a set-top box which hopefully you can connect to a monitor.
My parents told me that back before cable television, they thought no one would ever pay for television.
I find that kind of interesting. Did people during the 1970’s and 1980’s actually thought, "who in the hell would pay for television?" ??
What was life like before the Internet and cable television?
people told stories, read books, and listened to the radio. they learned to make things from their parents, too. girls learned to cook and sew, and boys learned car mechanics and woodworking, etc. people knew how to entertain themselves then. movies were big on the weekends. there were serial stories on the radio in the evenings. children also ran and played outside. i remember, because i was 7 before we got a tv set. with 3 channels.
Good point. But see, you don’t want your fridge and your TV to hang and crash together with your computer.
Imagine David Letterman suddenly stopped chatting and just stand still! You may hate to see viruses and worms going out of your fridge!
