Hi, my Mum has a Bush Internet TV (can’t find a model number at present) and it won’t turn on!
It’s worked fine for ages until friday when it was turned off on the front when in standby and now won’t come back off standby. We’ve changed the batteries in the remote and done the initialise code with the keys to set it up again but nothing will bring it back off standby! We’ve tried turning it on and off at the front, holding the standby button, pressing the channel button on the tv, turned it off at the plug, everything we can think of!!!
Anyone got any advice/suggestions? Besides buy a different make next time of course!
rmn - the number (I think as there are several on the back!) is 1497ITV/3. The power light on the front of the TV is on and the light on the remote comes on too when you push buttons! Thanx in advance.
And for the second answer, of course I have checked the manual, puzzled I may be, but stupid I ain’t!
Have you tried unplugging it from the mains electricity for at least 15 seconds, and then plugging it back in again?
If that doesn’t clear it, then it looks like something has gone wrong with the electronics and is causing the power supply to partially close down, so it will not come out of standby.
Unfortunately, if turning it off at the mains doesn’t help, I think you are going to have to get a TV repair engineer to look at it. The faulty is probably in the TV side.
Good luck anyway!
I’m trying to watch Channels like fox news and msmbc and cnbc and so on. I was wondering if thar was a website i can go to. i wod like it to be streaming. think;s
Each network has their own website where you can watch episodes, video interviews, etc. It’s all streaming video.
http://www.cnbc.com
http://www.cnn.com
http://www.foxnews.com
etc….
If you want to tune in and watch as if actually on tv, your notebook needs a PCTV tuner.
Any examples?
Television, hands down.
The internet requires some thought and basic skills to use.
with the invention of the apple tv and all of the integration of movies, tv on the internet, do you see yourself in the future with a computer in the middle of your living room with a big screen tv hooked up to it that will double as a regular cable tv? how fast do you see this happening for people in the future? how fast do you see the development of fast bandwidths and technology for it to all run smoothly?
they already have that capability in WebTV
Ive heard alot of rumor about programs that allow you to watch television on your computer. Ive become interested in such a thing, because a one time fee of 30 or even 60 dollars is much better then 50 or 100 dollars a month. Can anyone shed some light on this matter?
You don’t have to pay to watch TV on PC. I know this very good website where you can watch many TV channels online and beside Chat at the same time with people watching the same channel than you:
http://www.inner-live.com
Do yall remember that commercial for t.v. on the internet that was a commercial not to long ago? i think it started with an "h" and its free? mostly aired on NBC? Alec Baldwin was like an Alien in it?
Hulu.com Alec Baldwin was the first celeb promoting the site; others have joined in. It really is an evil plot to take over our world….but it’s fun to watch!!
What do you think are the bad or worst effects of internet on today’s youth which has access to the above mentioned facilities?
1.Over emphasis on thinness as a standard leading to anorexia and other eating disorders
2. Sexual predators
3. Pornography
4. Substitute for exercise and other healthier pursuits
I want to record shows from tidaltv.com and other internet television shows without having to use cable or broadband expensive contracts.
I don’t know a work around for tivo, however you can do this with TV21 program for PC:
I have heard of this before but I can’t remember the name of it, or where to find it, please help thanx.
You can use Slingbox from SlingMedia…
I am trying to watch tv programmes by connecting my laptop to the tv wth an HDMI cable, i can see the video but there is no audio however i can get the audio on the tv for if i play a cd in my laptop, the problem is getting audio signal for internet programmes on my tv, any suggestions
I would remove my flash player and re-install it again. Most of the Internet streaming uses flash.
make sure when you play movies, you send PCM over HDMI and NOT Dolby or bitstream.
