I have a pretty decently-aged laptop and a bit of an old Sony tv.
My computer has a HDMI port, and a VGA port. My tv has a S-Video port, and an RCA port.
I’m confused on which type of cable I should buy to connect my computer to my tv, not the best in technology.
I want to use the tv as a bigger screen to watch videos and movies from my laptop.
Please help me and thank you in advanced. (:
You do not want a particula cable or adapter. They just do not work in most cases, becasue most computers cannot be set to use them.
What you want is a VGA to TV converter box. It wil have a VGA input, composite or S-video output (often both), and power input.
For audio, you use a 3.5mm to RCA cable.
I have a Sony Bravia tv and want to stream netflix from the computer but they always show up blank when i use the cable to connect them. Do i need to alter the properties on the computer or something?
Yeah, it might be on the function keys or in the control pannel but you have to turn the secondary moniter "on" or the output on.
The new Season premiere of Jersey Shore is on tonight and I was wondering if I could watch it online, and if so where?
It should be on hulu in a day or two.
what can I do? I must graduate but I keep folling around. My frined said its impossible to study at home and I need to go to a library even if its miles away and pack a lunch.
yes u should do that. pl do now
I spend almost all day on a computer then I sometimes play a few hours of xbox on a 37 inch hdtv. How should I reduce eye strain, glare, and other vision issues without changing computer/game use times?
(I wear glasses, my eyes are about -1.5, I often don’t wear glasses when using a computer, but I almost always do while watching tv or playing video games.)
There are special computer glasses at drug stores that are supposed to take care of that.
Or you can just do what I do and put the screen brightness on low.
Hi!!
I have a Dell 15R Laptop, and I was wondering how I could hook this comp onto my TV to be able to watch videos and/or see my basic internet on my TV.
This computer has:
HDMITM Port
VGA Port
AC adapter connector
I was wondering what chords I’d need to hook it up to my TV.
Thanks.
Well if your TV has HDMI inputs, then that’s the way to go. You won’t be able to read any text if you don’t use a hi-def connection. Computer monitors and laptop screens are MUCH higher resolution than even the highest quality televisions.
So i bought myself a TV for Christmas and i want the TV’s built in speakers to play the sounds from my computer. I’m running HDMI from my computer to my TV.
Eh more Specs:
Windows 7
Realtek HD Audio Manager
No Card, Just Running off a Chip in the motherboard or something like that…
No Sound Card that is…
Go to Control Panel and configure it by going to Hardware and Sounds, and selecting your HDMI cable.
If this doesn’t work it might be your tv, just read the manual it should say if audio from pc to tv is supported (which it PROBABLY should if it has an HDMI cable.)
they play on the pc nice and clear but on the tv they look dark and hard to see. can u pleasetell me what to do. shouldi buy better dvds.
Well, it seems that this question had appeared twice, but I’d like to help you again, I know the reason why your burned dvd can’t be played well on tv via DVD player, but play well on the pc, Because you just directly burned your video files to dvd disc as a data dvd without convert to the right video dvd format, You should know most dvd players only recognize video dvd format well, can’t recognize data dvd, but pc can play data dvd well, So you’d better use a right software to convert your video files to video dvd format then burn to a dvd disc, I used RZ DVD Creator to do that well, it can convert any video files to video dvd format and burn to any dvd disc(DVD+R, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW, DVD-R DL, DVD+R DL, etc), easy to use, insert a dvd disc into your pc dvd burner drive, run RZ DVD Creator, select the dvd burner drive as the target folder, drag and drop the video files into the software, then press the START button, you will get a right video dvd, and you can play the burned video dvd well on your TV via DVD players, you could yahoo or google search and download RZ DVD Creator, hope it could help you.

I like watching tv on my computer, I use hulu.com, netflix and various network websites to watch TV but there are some cable shows I am missing out on. I don’t mind paying but I know who offers what I am looking for. We have direct tv now and they have a DVR where you can connect it to the internet and then watch recorded shows from your DVR on your computer which would be perfect, but the DVR has to be hard wired to our internet router and the way out house it set up, it just won’t work. If it were wireless, that would work, but Direct TV says it has to be connected to the router via wire. I live in Northern KY if that matters.
Get a cable splitter, buy a computer TV tuner and connect the cable directly to your computer (before it feeds to your router). One like this should work: http://www.amazon.com/Hauppauge-1200-WinTV-HVR-850-Tuner/dp/B00169CDUY/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1296325413&sr=8-5
