What is the best bundle for TV/Internet/Home in GTA?

Filed under: tv on internet — admin @ 7:57 am

I’m curious what is the cheapest bundle for TV/Internet/Home phone from either rogers or bell and how to get it. I know all the deals they have on their sites, but I’m wondering if there’s any promotional bundles for new customers or tricks for getting a great price that are not being advertised.
Not sure what sky is, but I’m looking for a deal in Toronto area.

Sky is pretty good.

Should I limit my kids to 2 hrs a day TV + internet?

Filed under: tv on internet — admin @ 9:08 am

Is 2 hrs too much? Lately I notice my older daughter (12) watching TV and doing internet or computer games, but not reading that much. I’m concerned that if she doesn’t spend more time reading her english and vocab. will suffer. Am I being too strict? Are there other parents that set limits on TV time and net time? What is reasonable?

I limit my daughters time on the internet to 1 hour and on TV till 1 hour before bed time.

I tell them that they should grab a book and read for an hour before sleep time.

The 13 year old fights it sometimes, but the 16 year old loves to have her head in a book.

Reading will help your daughter more than the internet. You are doing the right thing.

Good Luck!

What is the best service out there that has phone, internet, and satellite TV for a low price?

Filed under: tv on internet — admin @ 11:41 am

I live in Texas and was planing on getting an internet, TV and phone at the same time.

It depends on where you live (not only what city, but sometimes in what part of the city). Some carriers just don’t serve certain areas so, while they may be the best carrier in the world, you can’t use them where you live. (Satellite is different - you can use just about any satellite TV provider in North America from Texas.)

What news station/website would you say is the fastest at putting breaking news on the TV/Internet?

Filed under: tv on internet — admin @ 11:11 am

Like the Huffington Post or Fox 11 etc.

The BBC is constantly showing live reports, ‘as it happens’ on the internet.

Do you believe the TV/ Internet stories on Maurice Clemmons? Something seems fishy right?

Filed under: tv on internet — admin @ 9:31 am

How was he so wealthy (always helping neighbors financially, 15,000 bail)? Why were the cops following him? How did they know it was him so fast? Seems easy to blame a delusional man, right? Scare the copycats, right? Why did he kill Lakewood police in Parkland? No motive? What are they covering up? Why do people believe anything on TV?

I have no idea what his motive was, but it sounds a lot like a case in Kirkwood, Missouri close to 2 years ago, when a business man, who was not really poor but lived in a fairly poor, African American neighborhood, and was having a dispute with the local city government walked into a courthouse where a city council meeting was being held, and killed about 7 people, including 2 police officers and the mayor of the city died months later of his injuries. He died at the scene. Even though there was no manhunt, the police knew who he was when they saw him.

Being ‘rich’ does not make somebody innocent. In the case I’m talking about, the shooter was known to the police and the city officials. Clemmons may have been, too. The people at the diner where the police were shot may have known who he was, I don’t think it was a large town.

Do you mean the cops were following him before the shooting or when he was caught? They apparently knew all along who he was, either he was recognized or left some kind of evidence, fingerprints or something at the scene. Once the shooting took place, I don’t think they had a lot of suspects, just one.

What is the best tv,internet and phone service out there?

Filed under: tv on internet — admin @ 7:57 am

We are really deciding on Comcast Triple play or Verizon Fios. So which one is better and why???

The best thing about FIOS I have to say is that they use a proud union work force, not contractors that get paid by the job. You can be sure that your job will be done to the highest of standards. No HACK and RUN jobs here.

Having FIOS means that you will have your own direct line from your home to the CO (central office), and you will not be sharing your signal with anybody. If you have cable for your Internet and experience slowdowns at specific times, that is because you are sharing your signal with your neighbors, neighborhood, and local area. I also like that with FIOS if you ever loose power you will still have dial tone because of the bbu, that is if you have a non cordless phone.

As far as the cost, it all depends on what services you get. Such as type of stb (set top box) standard, standard dvr, hd, hd dvr. As well as options such as movies packages, internet speed (5/2, 15/2, 15/5, & 30/5) as well as your landline services

As far as installation goes, when you order you will be given an install date. You will be told that the installation will take between 4-6 hours, the reason being is the installation is a complicated process. One other thing is the tech will need access to a AC outlet near the placement of the ONT. You will get a new fiber drop from the terminal on a pole in your area, as opposed from your copper one. Once the fiber is placed the tech will install a new ONT (optical network terminal). What the ONT will do is convert the fiber signal back into one that your coax can "read". Along with the ONT you will also get a BBU (battery back up) that is what will give you the dial tone I mentioned above. Now your copper wireing will be transfered from your old NID to the new ONT. From here the coax will be moved from you current outside connection to the new ONT. Once the tech activates the ONT, a wireless router will then be placed by your computer. This will give you your internet along with your IMG (interactive media guide) for your TV. Your computer will then be programmed for the new router. Once this is working the new STB’s (set top boxes) will then be installed at each TV you requested. The tech will then activate the STB’s. The last thing the tech will do is to remove your old copper drop unless you request for it to be left in place. That will be the end of the install. The last thing is for you to enjoy the best video/internet arround.

How to watch CBS internet tv channels outside the USA?

Filed under: tv on internet — admin @ 7:10 am

I live in Australia and when ever i go on internet tv in Windows Media Center (i have windows 7 home premium), i can’t access any of the good channels like CBS because im outside the usa. It always says something like "wrong geographical location" or something like that and it is starting to become very frustrating. Any ways to get by this or any help?

Their is 1 site that I know is legitimate because I tried it for myself. http://www.WorldWideTVonPC.com. They also give you the option of signing up for month by month or a lifetime membership, which is cheap too. Hope this helps.

What is the best service out there that has phone, internet, and TV for a low price?

Filed under: tv on internet — admin @ 8:30 pm

I live in plano Texas and was planing on getting an internet, TV and phone at the same time. I know many companies offer the combo but which one do you think is the best?

They all change each month and the deals they offer are only for a few months until full pricing kicks in. Once the deals settle out into full pricing, Ihaven’t found any of the bundles to be especially beneficial. And if I’m dissatisfied with one, it means changing all of them. I have separate phone, internet and TV with different companies and still pay no more than I would in a bundle after a year.
