Software to Stream Live TV to a Mac Computer?

Filed under: download satellite tv — admin @ 7:26 pm

I have been looking around for something to download that would allow me to stream live tv to my mac without having to get any new hardware. I don’t mind if it costs money (as long as it’s not a monthly fee), I just want it to work properly, especially better than the jumpy free versions.
I found a program called "satellite tv for pc" that is for the pc and looks as though it is a scam, but the idea behind it is exactly what I am looking for.
Thanks for the input.

Nope - you need hardware. Your Mac doesn’t have a TV Tuner to decode cable and over-the-air video feeds.

The good news is that the Elgato EyeTV is exactly what you need and, while it’s classified as hardware, it simply plugs into a free USB port. It also comes with DVR software for Mac that makes it work a lot like a TiVO: you can record shows to your hard drive and then edit them however you want.
