Would it be a copyright infringement if started a internet tv channel and i had nickelodeon shows on it?

even if i had a copyright disclaimer stating that i do not own the shows that i put on the channel and that i give full credit to nickelodeon and im not making a profit of it. but i have my channel logo on my channel. please answer its important best answer gets 10 points

Yes. The lawyers for Viacom (Nickelodeon’s parent company) will thank you for the practice. Legally, you’re going to need legal clearances from Nickelodeon (and possibly have to purchase the rights to some series produced outside MTV Networks, which Nickelodeon is part of) before you can legally stream the Nick program backlog.

Besides…do you remember the crap a couple of years ago between Viacom and YouTube?

  2. Sean B is correct. What you’re proposing is completely, totally, 100% illegal. It’s not even close to being in a legal gray area. You’d get sued so fast you wouldn’t know what hit you, for millions of dollars.

    Always consult a lawyer who specializes in IP law before even thinking about something like this.
