That's the first obstacle to overcome. If in fact, you have an "HD ready" TV, or an HDTV, then yes, you can receive OTA (over the air) HD broadcasts, but you will need an antenna and be in an area that doesn't have any obstructions (mountains, buildings) that would impede your ability to receive OTA HD broadcasts. If your hd tuner is QAM enabled you can also pick up unencrypted digital signals from your cable provider also (ie. hd locals & probably a few other digital stations).
