get three rca cables (red white and yellow) take the first and go from the direct tv receiver output hook up each color to color then connect that to the input of your vcr then do the same from the output of your vcr to the input of your dvd recorder then connect just yellow and white from the output of your dvd to the input of your tv now you can record straight from the satellite receiver to your vcr or dvd or from your vcr to your dvd and watch each one

In our case we have a digital set top box feeding into the input of a vcr which then feeds into the input of the Hard Disk/DVD recorder which then feeds into the TV. It seems that in your case you only have a monoaural TV receiver so perhaps get an adapter that accepts the red and white audio and combines it into a single audio input for the TV.
