What is the best satellite tv system for our Hymer motorhome?
We will be staying mainly around the UK but occasionally going into spain and france.
Anyone have any help or experience they can offer?
What kind of price are the systems you all have?
The people that are recommending maxview are all portable kits and they are good.
But for FITTED satellite systems you should look at the oyster 85 or a dome type like the KVH tracvision or Camos 40 static.
These are 1 touch operation systems.
We got a Camos 40 static in the end from leisurepower in warrington….not cheap, but really good cost us £1800 fitted, but it works great everywhere….even down as far as Barcelona.

You can buy a really good system in France for 80€ (OPTEX) it includes Dish and freeview box you get all the english channels plus about 2000 others. I have this system in my caravan in France.
In my motor home Ihave a Maxview dish with an Optex set top box.
If you want to use Maxview set top box you can buy these on ebay for half the normal price, It is a complete camping kit for approx £45-00. you would need a larger dish than the one supplied.
For you TV go to Comet or Tesco nearly all 15/17inch are 12 volt just look at the connections on the back. I purchased 15inch flat screen with DVD player for £130-00 from comet. Sorry I can not give you my contact details you know what would happen if I put the on here. Good luck
