How do I hook up my computer to my television?
I bought a TV that has HDMI ports and a computer that has them as well.
I want to watch movies from my computer on my television.
Is it a simple hook up with a cable or what do I have to do?
put hdmi cable into computer put hdmi cable into TV after that a menu might pop up asking you to customize it resolution and other stuff
if your TV and computer both have VGA cable ports it looks better if you do it that way

you need two cables. an HDMI cable to do the video from the graphics card to the tv and then an audio cable for the sound.
the most basic way to get sound to your TV is through a headphone cable. you need the small headphone cable (3/8" i think) and it has to be male on both sides (the point not the hole). you could also use a headphone to RCA cable. it really depends on your TV and what methods you have of plugging devices in. other ways include digital coax and optical cables.
while HDMI does carry sound your graphics card does not put out sound so you will not have sound from your HDMI cable alone.

Hm…Well don’t worry I got the fix right here….First I you must know what your working with as in Ex.The computer. theres a wire the is hooked up to your moniter and your computer screen so you take that out and hook it to your T.V. and then once you hook it to your T.V. you simply hook it to you laptop (if you have one.)and you change the mode as in channel to game mode or etc.and then shortly your both screens will look the same so your controling everything from you laptop to your T.V. hope that helps.:)
