Questions About Using Television As Computer Monitor?
Someone told me that you can hook up a computer to a tv and use the tv screen as the monitor. How do you connect it? Does it matter what kind of tv?
He says that he thinks you can only do it with newer flat screen televisons. Can it be used on other types of televisions?
The best ones to use are indeed flat-panel HDTVs, that’s because they have computer-ready ports like HDMI. Older low-definition boob-tube TVs suck for use as monitors because they are very low resolution, and they don’t have computer-ready jacks.
I’m using a big-screen HDTV as my monitor. Since my computer has a DVI port that is compatible with HDMI, I have it hooked up using a DVI-to-HDMI cable. Works perfectly. Check it out:http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f347/armchairaviator/computer/IMG_0880c.jpg
