		<description>The best ones to use are indeed flat-panel HDTVs, that's because they have computer-ready ports like HDMI.  Older low-definition boob-tube TVs suck for use as monitors because they are very low resolution, and they don't have computer-ready jacks.

I'm using a big-screen HDTV as my monitor.  Since my computer has a DVI port that is compatible with HDMI, I have it hooked up using a DVI-to-HDMI cable.  Works perfectly.
