How do you view violent content on television and/or the Internet harmful to people? Explain your position. What are some examples that you can present to support your position?

Hello,

In no way do I think it will turn most of us into psychopaths and serial killers but it does harden your heart to reality when it comes along.
After watching those Friday XIII to gory sci-fi movies, through to all the others with graphic violence over my 50 plus years, I watched one of those Al Qaeda be-headings left on the INTERNET one day out of curiosity. Two things happened; I did not take any contract to do oil field work in Iraq even for twice the money I get here and the sad thing was that I felt no pain, horror or remorse for the victim… since I had seen in my mind that sort of thing hundreds of times before.

Also I would point out that many people who served in the Nazi SS units in WWII were shown violent films and situations to help harden them to horror, pain and suffering.

Cheers,

Michael Kelly

  1. I view them as harmful to people because they would want to do the same thing on there, they would think is awesome, in some movies it seems easy.but in real life it ain’t
