  3. by going to Hulu, …
by going to Hulu, or ABC, or NBC’s websites. DUH!!! If you will not let you then get a IP mask program, that makes it look like your in the US. Everyone knows that. Also they will not be live, and this will not do live TV, it does streaming TV off that are on the internet already. You laptop can do that and much much more. If your an APPLE IDIOT get it off ITUNES. Which I hate btw.

  5. You can do that on …
You can do that on your computer, or laptop, or Netbook, or Wii, or PS3, or PS2(With PS2 Linux Kit). If your gonna try and come back with the HD argument, you can hook your computer threw your HD TV with a good Video card, and HDMI or DVI cable, or even VGA cable like my Polaroid HDTV, and get higher rez, then standard 720i/p, and 1080i/p. John Logie Baird invented 1000 scanline HDTV back in 1946/47, but was never adopted. This box is total crap.

Tivo records shows, this does not. As for Apple TV it was a big flop, and for good reason, cause apple products are generally overpriced, underpowered, dressed up .

  10. Also wanted to add …
Also wanted to add they make a great 2nd backup machine as well. most of the AMD boards also have good enough onboard Audio, so no need to upgrade. AMD machines also last a really long time, and are generally easier on the wallet, then Intel based systems, and give as good of performance for the average user. :-) If your really looking to save money wait on the VIA Nano desktop boards to come out, and upgrade the video there.

  12. For me personally, …
For me personally, i would just build a really good AMD based PC in a small/mid sized case with a good ATI video card with DVI and HDMI ports on the cards or adaptors for HDMI, and a TV Tuner Card, and at least 3gigs of ram, and make sure it’s cooled really well. Running WinXP Media Center. Make sure you have no less then a 250GB 7200RPM HD. Custom build Media pc’s are the best way to go , as you get more value, and you can do more with them just watching movies, etc..

  16. Don’t coun’t on …
Don’t coun’t on being able to mod like the XBMC, you would have to flash a rom chip with a new program. I also don’t think comming from Netgear it’s gonna be an opensource rom. For your money your gonna be better off with the XBMC, or a PC hooked to your HDTV.

  19. I Never said the …
I Never said the cards where smaller then the box, and they can do HDMI 1080i/1080P, and my PC can do the same things as the box and then some. Also Popular does not always mean great, or worth $200. The way the economy is going, i see more people buying/building multipurpose PC’s then getting this box.

  20. The cards you are …
The cards you are talking about are larger then the unit. Additionally, this streams HDMI 720 to the home theatre not on the PC. It takes content from your network and the internet. It is plug and play. It sees everything on your network. You can watch on the home theatre Hulu and other channels including golf, basketball, and many others. The interface is easy! That’s why it was one of the most popular items at the Consumer Electronics show.

  21. Yes there are PC …
Yes there are PC video cards with HDMI output, and some can do higher resoultions then HDMI. :-). and yes you can legally. Netflix streams direct to PC. Far as the user interface, from what i saw, to me it kind of sucks. BTW HULU works right on my PC 24/7, and GOLF SUCKS.

  22. Can you see …
Can you see internet TV, HULU, PGA, access multiple movie providers legally, and Internet TV sites with HDMI connectivity and have the user interface experience I doubt it.

  23. call me crazy, but …
call me crazy, but i can build a cheap Linux box for that, or get a decent Emachines PC with Vista on it for that. In fact last year i did just that from Tiger. LMAO and I it hooked to my HDTV. My cost by the time i did my own updates/upgrades was only about $50 more.

  24. It allows you to …
It allows you to download movies from Cinema Now (Partnered with Blockbuster), it searches for videos from multiple internet search engines and google and allows you to see content on your home theatre. It has multiple functions that LiveStation does not.
