Rather than TV brand, you need a TV with (ideally) an HDMI or VGA input, and a computer with a VGA/DVI output. Here are the types of connections you can make between a TV and a computer: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/winfamily/mediacenter/getstarted/wmc-on-tv.mspx

You should also look into getting a computer with Windows Media Center, as it will allow you to take advantage of connecting your TV and PC.
References :
In order to connect your computer a TV you will need some type of video output on your computer and/or video input on your TV. Many video cards will have an S-video out connection on the back of the computer that you can use to connect to your TV. Or if your TV has a VGA input you can connect a VGA cable from where your monitor goes on the back of the computer to this VGA input on your TV. Basically you need some sort of video output on the computer and input on the TV that will work together.
References :
http://www.trvidcomblog.blogspot.com

The biggest question is what is your price range!
there are several types of connectors that make it possible to connect a tv to a computer including S-video,HDMI, and DVI
for the best Hi-Def picture DVI to DVI connection is the best.
basically for the best picture you need a video card with 1GB video memory and a DVI out connection but,
you gan get cheaper computers and video cards that will do s-video out

I put 2 examples below the desktop has more power and cheaper, but less mobile
References :
Sam Experienced Computer Tech

for a desktop I would look at this
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883103219

for a laptop I would look at this

Any HDTV that has an HDMI port can be connected to a computer with DVI or HDMI outputs on the video card.

That's what I'm doing with mine: http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f347/armchairaviator/computer/IMG_0880c.jpg It's hooked up using a DVI-to-HDMI cable. (Yes, DVI is compatible with HDMI).

So make sure you buy an HDTV with HDMI ports, and make sure the computer you are buying has either a DVI or HDMI output. (Keep in mind an HDTV's HDMI port will NOT work with a computer VGA output.)

Hope this helps.
