take a good look at Panasonic rear projection LCD
they were first and still lead the market in Computer
and TV split screen
most models offer 3 inputs for computers 2 DB-15 and 1 DVI
only the DB-15 inputs will force a columar pixel pattern
making text clearer on computer display
References :
In order to have a PC picture and regular tv on screen, you will want a LCD tv with split screen PIP. DO NOT get plasma, especially if you want to do any graphics. Most manufacturers have not taken care of the burn-in (image retention) issue yet. I suggest going with a larger Samsung. They have very clear displays and you will actually be able to see what you are watching or working on.
