yes, Please!! TV is so bad! I believe that it is the most wasteful thing a person (specially young girls) can do with their time!! Please teach her that reading will expand her mind far more than TV, especially with all that garbage thats on it these days.
paris hilton, miley cyrus…etc. let me guess, she wants to be just like her? TV is so terrible and parents just dont realize how horribly wasteful it is…dont let your young children waste the precious moments of their young lives on tv

internet is in the grey zone cause they do need it for HW. I know I do. All my homework is done on the computer except a few of them. I can tell you my mum has put a big limit on TV to. No TV from mon-thurs unless you don’t have to go to school the next day your not allowed to watch TV. and if today is a holiday im allowed till 10 o’clock.
Others may think it’s strict but the rules been in use since the age of 3 and stuck ever since so I kinda got used to it. But if your kids aren’t used to it i think they’ll put up a fight. I know i will if i was in that situation.

I limit my daughters time on the internet to 1 hour and on TV till 1 hour before bed time.

I tell them that they should grab a book and read for an hour before sleep time.

The 13 year old fights it sometimes, but the 16 year old loves to have her head in a book.

Reading will help your daughter more than the internet. You are doing the right thing.

That is the limit that we have in our house. That also includes his DS and other video games.

That’s a great idea. Your kids need time to read, play, do chores (teaches responsibility), socialize. Encourage your children to engage in activities that involve their imagination, challenge their brains, or help shape their sense of self.

I somehow find the time to be on the computer from the time i get home till the time i go to sleep, somehow watch t.v in the same timespan and read many books ((usually crack-sex books haha)) on the weekends..
Basically I’m on the internet from 3 till 11, yah I know a lot
T.v from 11 till whenever I fall asleep
Books whenever I feel like it and or have a good book to read.
I read A LOT.
But I still get pretty good grade, but lately the’ve been slipping. Shh! But thats my classwork grades mostly. I have 2 C’s 2 B’s and 1 A. Thats the worse I”ve ever gotten

When we get the tv guide each kid goes through and chooses 4hrs worth of tv for the week. They can choose all four hours on one night if they really want to, but they all have their favorite shows that they watch so it usually turns into 4, 1 hour shows throughout the week.
