How do I get my laptop to use TV-Out?

Filed under: tv on laptop — admin @ 6:00 am

I have recently bought a new TV. And I am wanting to use the TV out from laptop to TV. My laptop is a Compaq Presario C300. I have connected the laptop with the TV via the TV-out lead. But nothing new has come up, and im not sure what software i will need for this laptop.
Thanks in advance. James :)
Your TV out port on your laptop might not have drivers installed for it. Look in your Device Manager if you have a PC and see if the TV out device is there. Check the make in your documentation.

  1. you may have to tune an unused station to your laptop, unless reading the tv manual gives out hints? visit manufacturer website for TV? Plug into TV in jack, after all it is output of laptop to input of tv?

  3. You will need to configure your TV to the new input, your TV manual should explain how to do this and then you will need to redirect the laptops output to the TV out lead, this is usually done with a key combination of Fn+F4 but it may be different.

  5. just done it . i found out that S vid cables are useless , you need to have VGA cables for best results .with my acer laptop i go to my CONTROL PANEL click ADDITIONAL OPTIONS , this is where i get to NVIDIA CONTROL PANEL , i click this which brings three options i click DISPLAY . now i click on CHANGE DISPLAY CONFIGURATION then choose the configuration you require. i know you may not have NVIDIA software , but you should have an equivalent program on your laptop . i am no computer expert but this worked for me . hope this helps.
