Can my cat actually see & watch my TV/computer screen?

Filed under: tv on my computer — admin @ 1:40 pm

Today, I decided to play around with my cat, so I went on YouTube and started playing cricket noises, and she started getting alarmed.
So then I decided to play a video with a collab of cats meowing, and I showed it to my cat on full screen.
She looked at it, and started to actually growl!

I also showed her this video –

She kept looking back and forth at the two cats.

So can she actually see what’s going on on the screen?

Yes the cat can - if you look up videos on you tube you would see that some videos that people play the nintendo wii and the cat will follow the clicker - so it could be the same for that to - i found that video when i was searching music videos im guessing it was in the wrong section as well - it thinks the clicker is its prey so it stalks it probably the same with the youtube video and the moving cats.

  2. She can. Part of the reason animals don’t watch TV/computers that much though, is because to them it looks like it’s flickering. It’s like staring at a strobe light with a picture coming up every time it lights up, and it gets really annoying.

  4. Sure they can!
Every time i look up kitty videos on youtube, Feury is right there on my lap watching it with me.
I’ve heard of lots of people leaving their TV on for their cats. My mom in law (well soon to be) leaves her TV on all day for the dogs

  5. yes bc it has a noise and that makes animals pay attention if they hear a noise that they like or that they are familiar to them.
