How do i hook up my acer aspire 5810TZ to my sony tv using a HDMI cable?
i have a port on both my tv and computer but i don’t know which channel or setting to put my tv/computer on so i can watch movies from my laptop on my tv. please please please help me!
you will need to find a "source" or "input" button on your remote and select the input/source you have plunged you HDMI cable into. They should be all numbered. On you laptop you will need to press Windows key and "P" and select "projector only" assuming you have windows 7.

I am assuming that you want to display your laptop on your TV. I am listing multiple ways to connect your laptop to your TV. Just pick the right type connection that works for both your laptop and TV, connect OUT of laptop to an INPUT on your TV. Set your TV to that input (mode) and if you see nothing on the TV, look at your laptop keyboard at the F keys (function keys) for the one with a double display image on it, pree the function button and the F key to set the laptop to external display.
