How to watch PC format files on TV?
I know people convert it and burn to DVD or connect desktop to TV, but is there other ways to watch computer video files like AVI and RMVB? Are there any electronics that accept flash drive and sd card with the files saved inside to watch on TV.
In my experience, appart from connecting your pc to tv directly as you mentioned, some of the higher end TVs have SD card Slots and USB Slots (for usb sticks), so you can play your files directly from those media cards. The formats the TV can read vary from set to set and brand to brand, so it’s worth investegating at your nearest showroom to see which set suits your needs.

Some Divx/Xvid certified DVD player have usb port, can play Divx/Xvid AVI videos via flash drive, so you can purchase a Divx/Xvid certified DVD player to play Divx/Xvid AVI videos via usb port, of course if your video files isn’t the right format, you can use some software to convert it to the right formats, like I am using RZ DVD Creator, it can convert any formats movies to Divx AVI video/Xvid AVI video/video DVD, it can save the converted videos on harddrive or directly burn to disc. You can yahoo or google serach RZ DVD Creator and download it, easy to use, good quality, hope these info can help you.

A DVD ripper is a software program that facilitates copying the content of a DVD to a hard disk drive. They are mainly used to transfer video on DVDs to different formats, to edit or back up DVD content, and for converting DVD video for playback on media players and mobile devices. Some DVD rippers include additional features, such as the ability to decrypt DVDs, remove copy preventions and make disks unrestricted and region-free.

Standard DVD players read the .Vob format, the files you have now are in AVI format..
I would recommend you download ConvertXtoDVD. Ive been using it, it works just great.
It will automatically convert to DVD format, readable by all standard dvd players, it will then burn automatically to DVD…

It can convert any video file.. like wmv, mkv, mp4, avi to dvd
2. Add or drag-n-drop as many video files as the DVD can handle
3. Insert blank DVD
4. Click "Convert"
5. Enjoy watching those video files on your home DVD player! =)
